HAIL AND FAREWELL

  • Nearly 50 years in the writing!
  • Acclaimed at its inception in 1948 by Robert Frost, then poet-in-residence at Dartmouth College!
  • Rape, murder, intrigue, and deception among the young men on the battlefield!
  • The utter brutality, confusion, madness and total disorganization of men at war!
  • Young soldiers who grew up during the lean years of the great depression, thrown into the battle with pitifully inadequate training and still able to engage in moments of complete hilarity.

  • The pain and horror of liberating the concentration camp at Ginskirkchen, described in a way that will send shivers up your spine and literally make you gasp
  • An astounding book, a book that you won't put down - a book you'll never forget!
Dr. Zebrowski had spent thirty-six years before his retirement in 1991 practicing family medicine in Plainville, Connecticut. He now spends all of his time writing. Leaving high school in the middle of his senior year to join the infantry, he was a member of the Intelligence and Reconnaissance Platoon, 5th Infantry Regiment, 71st Division, attached to Patton's 3rd Army in WWII. He received the Combat Infantry Badge and the Bronze Star for his action in combat.
