Ignacio Medina Jr. Obituary Ignacio Medina, Jr., retired physician and surgeon, died Wednesday, March 5th, 2014 at his home. He was 101. Dr. Medina was born in Valladolid, Mexico. He attended Rugby Academy, Tulane and LSU Medical School; and he served as 1st assistant coroner for Orleans Parish from 1956 - 1974. He was a player with St. Claude Terrors football team, and has been a Saint's season ticket holder since 1967. Dr. Medina's wife, Mary Ann Medina, died in 1999. He is survived by his four children, Kathleen, Julie, Gerald and Stephen Medina, and by his grandson, Thomas Giroir. A graveside service was held on the morning of Monday, March 10, 2014 in Metairie Cemetery.
