His brother Ron Steiner joined him in heaven on July 30, 2021. John and Ron were born in Buffalo NY to parents John R and Florence (Ferguson) Steiner. The brothers were proud of their country, and prouder still of serving in its honor. Ron served with the US Army and National Guard, Specialist Fourth Class. John served during the Korean War as a Sergeant First Class in the 5th RCT. They were members of the American Legion and VFW. Afterwards, John pursued a career in Graphic Arts, eventually leaving Buffalo. He was co-owner of a Graphics Art company in Florida. Ron worked in maintenance and then security, serving as a Deputy Sheriff for the Buffalo Public Library. He and his mother joined John in Miami, Florida where Ron continued to work security. Both brothers had many interests outside of work. John was an artist and enjoyed drawing and later creating personalized cards for friends and family. He also loved to cook. Ron explored many hobbies including woodworking, cabinetry, stained glass, painting, scrimshaw, and jewelry-making. The brothers, especially Ron, had a love for animals. For much of his life, his home was filled with the sounds of his finches and lovebirds. He put in a pond at their Buffalo home and raised koi. In recent years, the brothers raised a family of 5 cats that they adored. The brothers had shared love for traveling, reading, antiquing and history. They also shared a deep and abiding faith in God. Generous, kind and caring, John and Ron loved their Steiner family and treasured their St. Ambrose Family and church. They were devoted to each other and are now together again in God’s light. John and Ron are predeceased by their parents and by their brother Eugene, and his wife Agnes Ellen. They are survived by their four nieces who will cherish their memory – Susan (Donald) Johnston, Linda (David) Ward, Carol (Kevin) Adams, and Mary (Brian) Harris. They are also survived and loved by their great-niece Lisa (Sandor “Alex”) Balasi and their great-nephews Michael (Shennell) Ward and Chris (Jennifer) Adams, along with 5 great-great nieces and nephews, and many cousins.
