John Albert Scattergood, Lt Col USA (Ret.) 86 of Melbourne went to be with the Lord on Friday, October 17, 2014. John was born in Trenton, NJ on August 3, 1928.
He served his county for 32 years in the Army with 3 tours in Vietnam earning 3 Purple Hearts, the Bronze Star for valor, prior to the Vietnam War he was an advisor the Vietnamese railroad. After retirement from the Army he worked for EGG at the Kennedy Space Center and was also a Shriner.
John is survived by his wife of 68 years Blodwen, sons, Gregory Scattergood ( Barbara), Jack Scattergood, Jr, Rodney Senatro (Tracy), daughters, Pamela Senatro (Neil) and Sharon Carter ( Charles), 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his son Parry Scattergood.
There will be a visitation tonight Tuesday from 6-8pm at the Life Event Center at Florida Memorial. The funeral service will be held at 11am on Wednesday, October 22 at the Life Event Center at Florida Memorial with interment following at Florida Memorial Gardens
