Buddy Holly & American Windmill Museum Tour
- The Buddy Holly Center is a performance and visual arts center in Lubbock, Texas, dedicated to Buddy Holly as well as the music of Lubbock and West Texas more broadly.

A museum of Windmills and Wind Powered machines. Teaching the history of wind power and the necessity of wind machines through out history. We also have a 3000 foot "G" scale train display to teach the relationship between the windmills and the steam engine trains.

Memorial Service
A memorial service will take place at The Silent Wings Museum, followed by a Memorial Buffet Luncheon.
The museum is located on the site of World War II South Plains Army Air Field, where glider pilots were trained between 1942 and 1945, and after which time they were required also to command skills in powered flight. The giant "silent wing" gliders flew soldiers and supplies largely undetected behind enemy lines because they had no engine noise. The Lubbock site was initially chosen for the Army's glider school because of its dry climate, warm weather, mostly clear skies, and good will in the local community.
The cost is $69 per person.
