DETAILS
On August 17, 1969, Company B was providing security for Rome Plow cutting operations 3 kilometers southeast of Trang Bang. At 1320 hours, the company requested a Dust-off for one Bobcat with shrapnel wounds to his left arm. At 1400 hours, Company A requested a Dust-off. An APC from the company had detonated what was estimated to be a 100 pound mine three kilometers northwest of Cu Chi Base Camp at XT 624184. Five Bobcats were wounded and the APC was a combat loss. One of the wounded Bobcats from Company A died of his wounds in hospital later that day.
