DETAILS
On January 11, 1968, the 1/5th(M) Task Force continued daylight patrolling in the Michelin Plantation. At 1043 hours Company D, 3/22nd Infantry engaged one VC at XT 534475. During a sweep of the contact area one short wave radio, a map with positions plotted, one bicycle and miscellaneous documents were located. Two Bobcats from Company B were killed by shrapnel from an explosion.
