DETAILS
On March 24, 1969, Company B was assigned to provide security for Rome Plow operations north of Trung Lap. At 0845 hours, Company B received small arms, automatic weapons and RPG fire. The fire was returned with the support of artillery and helicopter gunships. One Bobcat was wounded in the contact. At 1524 hours, Company C requested a Dust-off northwest of Trung Lap at XT 565242. An APC had detonated an AT mine. Three dead Bobcats and three wounded bobcats from Company C were dusted-off. The APC was a combat loss. At 1555 hours, another Dust-off was requested for a Bobcat with eardrum damage and for one with heat stroke. At 1740 hours, Company B again received small arms and RPG fire in the same area. Fire was returned and the enemy fire was suppressed. One Bobcat was wounded in the contact.
