DETAILS
On April 27, 1969, at about 0330 hours, Fire Support Base Patton, located on the north fringe of Trung Lap at XT 593217, began receiving 82mm mortar rounds. Fire was returned with unknown results. One Bobcat from the 4.2 mortar section was killed and 3 were wounded. One Bobcat from the Recon Platoon was also wounded.
Company C was sent north of Trung Lap to assist the 2/12th Infantry who were in contact. The members of Company C spent the next two days sweeping the area of the 2/12th Infantry contact, policing up enemy bodies, weapons and equipment.
